What do we look for in a tutor?
Passion, compassion, honesty and innovation. That's all. We want proactiv folks who help students learn how to learn. and communicate honestly and . Additionally, we’re looking for tutors who can articulate what a student needs to succeed effectively with the student, their family, and our staff. They should be able to adapt their curriculum to reflect those discoveries. Our favorite candidates have committed to getting to know the student as a person and how outside elements might be affecting the student's work.
We look for tutors who have experience in teaching and/or tutoring for at least 2 years and can provide 2-5 references. When you apply please indicate what your areas of expertise are.
How does payment and pricing work?
The card/account you add when you buy your membership is the card that will be charged monthly, annually, and per session. It is an automatic payment system. If you need to change your information at any time you can do so via the settings in your account. The amount of access and special attention a client can receive is dependent upon your membership.
How do you verify your tutors?
We will verify tutor profiles within 24-48 hours. The more detailed your profile is, the faster the process. Look out for the questionnaire that will be sent for you to fill out with references, reviews, scores and resume requests. If we need anything else we will send you a message or call the number on your account. If your profile is rejected you can reapply in _____ days.
What if my child requires special help?
We aim to find the best link for every student. We specifically inquire about specific learning considerations ranging from dislexia to emotional considerations to find the qualified tutor to break through in a manner that helps the student. As our database grows we'll only match the student with a tutor if we think they're compatible with what the specific student needs. Just chek the appropriate needs at intake and let us do the rest.
How does linking work?
Once you put in the parameters, the best matches we have will pop up. If we don’t have someone with the specifications you’re asking for, reach out to us and we’ll see if we can find someone who fits your requirements.
What do tutors earn?
Tutors set their own prices based on what they’re comfortable with. Clients will see a range on their profile and the rate can be set and added during the initial call through the app. As it’s a service that aids both clients and tutors there are memberships for each. If you are beyond the usual range of a tutor then a travel cost may be assessed that helps offset the costs of travel. This will be determined by us or the tutor and added to the session’s bill.
Can I change tutors?
Absolutely! You are always welcome to search our database for a new tutor if you feel like it’s time for a change or if the first tutor you selected is not the best match. Our ultimate desire is to partner A tutor with a student they can thrive with, in exchange allowing the student to shine.
